### You're Making Games... Again? So, yeah, it's been roughly 1 year since our last big attempt at making a game. > That was before we even founded Panel Party LLC! Back then, we lacked experience and were attempting to make a Discord game of SimonWL's tabletop game *'Trivia Throne'* using web frameworks, since that's all we knew at the time. Since, we've put a lot of hard work into learning Godot as our first engine! ### The Blue Ocean "Rising Tide Challenge" ![Rising Tide Challenge webpage countdown](https://api.grawlich.art/assets/110e8fc3-37b1-4932-9c67-9cacc5cd1ae9) Though we are still perfectly capable of working, our company won't last forever if we don't *make* things. So, while looking for opportunities to create and release some cool software & websites, Quip found out about this big game pitch event! I had already been kicking around a project for a 3D platformer, so starting that up as our primary was an easy choice given my extensive experience in Blender. We also decided on a couple of other projects we might be able to submit as well! We're really hoping to make it since up to 20 winners (10 community selected, 10 judge selected) will be chosen! I knew for sure the atmosphere that I wanted for the game. A certain Spyro level has always had a special place in my mind: Hurricos. The sun breaking through the overcast sky, a very light rain keeping everything feeling calm, but still gloomy, the dystopian industrial atmosphere. I really enjoy stormy weather. ### Introducing our latest game project: *'Deliver Unto Evil'* ![Deliver Unto Evil official logo](https://api.grawlich.art/assets/50eda810-d6a2-4254-bd66-105d9f7847ab) I settled on creating a large manor built into the cliffs inside a island cove. The player would arrive by boat, be greeted with this large, imposing structure to explore, a la Resident Evil: Village. In 10 days, I was able to get a working + textured level prototype, create custom character model and import basic animations. I really want this game to do well, I'm sure it'll be a gem for folks like me that enjoy these types of mechanics. ### You Mentioned Multiple Entries, Though As for the other submissions, Quip is working out plans for his idea: *'It's All Connected (Working Title)'* - A post-collapse industrial horror game based on mobile trivia and puzzle games. The basic idea is you are in an unknown facility, left with nothing but a cellphone. You traverse 3D environments, phone in-hand, finding areas to solve certain puzzles to progress, much like an escape room! It will have a low-res/low poly style to keep performance high, scope small, and focus on the puzzle mechanics. Though both share the 3D aspect, not a ton of code can be shared. DUE is a third-person platformer, and IAC is first-person and will probably not even have a jump mechanic. The other two are still very much at the core-concept phase and may not have a chance to be realized before the deadline: - 3D Zombie Arcade Driving - 2D Dice-Builder RPG Roguelite ### Plan B's So, we're well aware of the fact that there will be a **ton** of submissions, and our vision may not connect with people as we expect because marketing is hard. We will not take a lack of interest from this event as a sign of failure, we will instead pivot to using the games and their respective trailers and demos, build pitch decks, croudsource/croudfund to get these things out there for you all to enjoy playing as much as we enjoyed making them! And, not to worry, we have no shortage of game ideas! *'Trivia Throne'* is certainly still on the docket, as well as countless others that team may not be cool with me sharing at the moment.
