3D Sketch: Fantasy Portal

Date Completed: 2025-04-16

Today, I completed a new 3D sketch in roughly 1 hour. No foundational sketch or reference was used. I decided to optimize this model's UV space by only unwrapping 1 quarter of each piece and mirroring the geometry.

This is not ideal, as can be seen in the quick and dirty textures I created in the second model. The mirroring is very obvious with any detail-heavy textures.

If I were to do it again, I would probably do halves instead of quarters, since the external seam would be less obvious, and the internal seam would be hidden by the portal VFX.
